Terms of Use
Effective: May 13, 2026
These terms cover your use of journal.elelaf.com (the Journal). The connected store at elelaf.com has its own terms.
Plain-English version
This is an editorial website. The content is for general information, not medical advice. If you act on what you read here and something goes wrong, that’s not on us. Don’t copy our articles wholesale.
The longer version is below.
Editorial content is not medical advice
The Journal publishes content about skincare. We try hard to be accurate — every article cites authoritative sources, and we plan to retain board-certified dermatologists to review medical content.
Despite all that: nothing on this site is a substitute for advice from a qualified medical professional who has actually seen your skin. If you have a skin condition that’s concerning you, see a dermatologist.
Specifically: if an article on this site contradicts something your doctor told you, listen to the doctor.
Use of the site
You can read the Journal freely. You can share links. You can quote short passages with attribution.
You cannot:
- Republish full articles on another site without permission
- Use our content to train an AI system without a license
- Scrape the site in ways that affect its performance
- Use the brand name, logo, or product names to promote your own business
- Reverse-engineer or copy product formulations
Intellectual property
Articles, images, the brand name, and the brand identity are owned by Elelaf or our content contributors. Third-party trademarks (CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, and others mentioned in articles) belong to their respective owners.
If you want to license an article or a piece of artwork, email [email protected].
User submissions
We don’t currently accept user submissions or comments on this site. If we add a comment system in the future, comments will be moderated and you’ll grant us a license to display them.
External links
Articles link to external sources (PubMed, AAD, dermatology journals, occasionally to product pages or retailers). We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Disclaimers
The site is provided as-is. We work hard on accuracy but don’t guarantee it. We don’t guarantee any specific skincare outcome.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Elelaf is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or your application of skincare practices described here.
Affiliate disclosure
Some external product links on this site may, in the future, generate affiliate commissions for Elelaf. When that’s the case, the article will say so. We don’t recommend products differently based on commission status — we recommend what we’d actually use ourselves.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the “Effective” date at the top. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of State of Wisconsin, USA.
Disputes will be resolved in the courts of State of Wisconsin, USA.
