About Elelaf
Elelaf is a small slow-skincare brand. The Elelaf Journal is its independent editorial arm. Fewer products, longer trials, no trend-chasing, and citations on every claim.
The brand in one paragraph
Elelaf launched in 2026 with three product lines, each built around a specific scientific territory rather than a marketing theme — the skin microbiome, regenerative biotech (peptides, PDRN, growth-factor signaling), and the cortisol-skin axis. We formulate at Korean labs, distribute under US FDA cosmetic regulations, and we’re aiming at people who want skincare that works without the anxiety marketing.
The founder is Khabir Uddin. The brand is independent — not owned by a holding company, not on the trend-cycle, not in a hurry.
Why we publish the Journal
Skincare has become anxiety. Multi-step routines, conflicting trend cycles, fear-based marketing about aging, and a content economy that pays for affiliate clicks instead of correctness. The Elelaf Journal exists to publish the opposite of all of that.
Every piece is sourced — AAD, PubMed, NIH, FDA, peer-reviewed journals, named clinicians. Every ingredient claim is checked against the supplier’s technical data and the relevant studies. When science is unsettled, we say so. When we’re wrong, we update the post with a visible “Updated” line and a note explaining what changed.
The editorial desks
The Journal is organized into six desks. Each desk has its own writers, its own sourcing standards, and editorial independence from the brand:
- Skin Health — acne, rosacea, eczema, melasma, hyperpigmentation, conditions
- Ingredients — retinoids, vitamin C, niacinamide, peptides, acids, ceramides, sunscreen filters
- Routines — by skin type, age, life stage, season, concern
- Education — Skincare 101, anatomy, the barrier, pH, glossary, common myths
- Reviews — skincare apps, tools, tests, scanners, trackers
- Editorial — slow-skincare manifesto, brand essays, K-Beauty, wellness
How we work
For the long version, read our editorial standards, our testing methodology, and our sourcing principles. The short version:
- We cite specifically. Not “research shows” — but study name, journal, year.
- We don’t review our own products. The Journal covers the category, not the brand.
- We disclose every relationship. Test units provided, retail purchases, conflicts.
- We don’t take affiliate commissions in exchange for positive coverage.
- We update on a rolling 12-month cycle, and we leave the corrections visible.
- We say “we don’t know” when we don’t know.
